Day trip to NOLA

My mom, aunt, daughter and I spent Wednesday in New Orleans to celebrate my mom's birthday!  We had a wonderful day full of laughs and fun.  Here's some pics from the day!

We started out at Cafe Du Monde and then walked to the Aquarium to spend a good part of the day.  After the aquarium, we watched an Imax film on Kenya.  Our tummies were growling so we found ourselves at Manning's Restaurant for "lupper" (lunch and supper) and afterward headed home!  It was a great day!

The aftermath of the beignets.  I did good and only had water!
It was a wee bit windy

  2. Looks like a fun - love a girls' day! Love all the pictures...well, maybe not the creepy eel thing peeking out of the egg :) Great picture of your mom and aunt - of course, Devyn is adorable. Is that really a gigantic picture of Archie Manning staring down at diners from the ceiling?

    1. Thanks!!! Yes that was a giant pic of Archie! He was all over the walls (and the others too, of course). It was really good place to grab a bite to eat!

  6. I can't believe you only had water at Cafe du Monde! You're a stronger soul than I. My husband laughs at me for waxing poetic about Cafe du Monde, but he has no idea how fantastic it is. :) I was sitting on their patio eating beignets one day and Carol Channing, who was ancient by that time, stopped to sing Hello Dolly with the band set up right outside. It was surreal to see such a Broadway legend in action and such an "only in New Orleans" moment. :) Now I want beignets.

    1. Oh wow what an amazing experience I bet that was! Neat! Have you seen the youtube video where Lenny Kravitz joins a high school band who are performing right next to Cafe Du Monde? That one was neat to see also. I've not ran into anyone famous in Nola but a few people I know have! My co-worker was at the Children's museum and kept running into Keri Russell!
